Accessibility Statement

Commitment to Accessibility

This catalog interface is powered by Biblionix and provided to patrons by Capitan Public Library. Biblionix is committed to providing an accessible online public access catalog experience for all users, including people with disabilities. We believe access to library resources should be inclusive and equitable, and we actively work to support accessibility across the catalogs we host.

Accessibility Standard

This library catalog, as provided and maintained by Biblionix, is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Our accessibility efforts focus on ensuring that the catalog supports access by users of assistive technologies, including screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other adaptive tools.

Customization and Local Modifications

Biblionix allows participating libraries to apply limited local customizations, such as custom CSS, to align the catalog with institutional branding or local preferences. These local customizations are outside of Biblionix’s direct control and may affect the accessibility of the catalog as experienced by end users. As a result, accessibility conformance may vary depending on the specific custom styles or modifications applied by an individual library.

Platform Safeguards and Support

To support accessibility across all hosted catalogs, Biblionix designs and maintains the catalog interface to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements.

The platform preserves semantic structure, keyboard navigation, and core functionality in the base interface.

Shared Responsibility

Biblionix is responsible for the accessibility of the core hosted platform as delivered. Participating libraries are responsible for ensuring that any local customizations they apply meet applicable accessibility requirements.

Libraries are encouraged to consider accessibility when applying custom styles and to test locally customized catalogs for compliance.

Feedback and Assistance

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the catalog.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier while using a catalog hosted by Biblionix, please contact us at npprffvovyvgl@ovoyvbavk.pbz or contact Capitan Public Library.

When an issue is reported, we will work collaboratively to assess and address the concern.

Statement Updates

This accessibility statement may be updated periodically to reflect improvements to the platform or changes in accessibility standards.

Basic Tips and Examples — Keyword Search

Most likely, you'll want to use this simple search. It performs a Google®-type search (including support for putting phrases in quotes). It searches all titles, subtitles, authors' first and last names, various notes, and a number of other fields. You'll be presented with the list of library items based on their relevancy to your search. Word order and letter case do not matter. NOTE: For searches with "AND", "OR", etc, use More Search Options.

To use this method, simply type a word, words, or phrase into the blank at the top of the screen. Then either push the Enter key on your keyboard, or click the GO! button. Other search options in the drop-down menu are "Title Starts With", "Title Contains", and "Author".

Keyword Search Examples:

DVDs based on books by John Grisham:
grisham dvd
The Lord of the Rings series:
"lord of the rings"
Snakes in Texas:
snakes texas
Items involving a particular fictitious character:
jack ryan
That book you heard about once, written by somebody named Fred that has "Sea" somewhere in the title:
fred sea
